School-Centred Initial Teacher Training (SCITT)
Thinking about becoming a teacher? Looking for an outstanding school to start your career?
Come and join Goldsworth on your journey to becoming a qualified teacher!
What is School-Centred Initial Teacher Training (SCITT)?
The SCITT programme allows you the opportunity to learn on the job across two schools, learning from experienced colleagues and putting your new skills into action from day one. The course lasts for one academic year and results in the award of qualified teacher status (QTS).
The majority of the time will be spent working alongside an experienced class teacher. Trainees are able to attend staff meetings and development days and to engage fully in school life, therefore extending their professional development.
We have a strong partnership with the Surrey South Farnham SCITT programme, which provides excellent training alongside the experience you’ll receive from being with Goldsworth.
Why train with us?
Goldsworth Primary School has an outstanding record in training SCITT students, with them advancing on to become fantastic class teachers and leaders. We are proud to have a large number of previous trainees on our staff and whole-heartedly believe that the programme gives them a fantastic start in their careers.
The Goldsworth community encourages all to be self-reflective and pro-active in developing the skills needed to become successful. We have the highest aspirations for our children both for academic success and success in their relationships and personal well-being, believing that every child can achieve great things and live happy, fulfilled lives. At Goldsworth we hope to create an environment which encourages everyone who is part of it to ‘Be The Best That They Can Be’.
